Execution Report 2021-2022

Before the beginning of the new season at Hommes et Terre, we would like to take a look back at last season. 2021-2022 was a challenging season. In Burkina Faso and Mali, the security situation still caused a large part of our sites to be inaccessible or difficult to access. In Senegal, we were confronted with the challenges of starting up our restoration projects in a new country. Nevertheless, we managed to successfully complete our interventions in all three countries.

In Burkina Faso, 30 new sites have been identified, plowed and sown for a total of 5.005 ha.

In Mali, 12 new sites have been identified, plowed and sown in the Mopti region, for a total of 2533 ha.

In Senegal, 12 new sites have been identified plowed and sown in the Tambacounda region, for a total of 2661 ha.

Besides our own earthworks for the Hommes et Terre patrimony, we also executed 1.080 ha of earthworks for La Cooperation Luxembourgeoise and WeForest in Burkina Faso and Senegal. This brings our earthworks to a total of 11.279 ha during the past season. More information about our interventions of the past season, can be found in our execution report.

A big thank you to our team for their amazing work.

We look forward to another year of regenerating ecosystems in the Sahel!
