In Burkina Faso, each year 500.000ha of fertile land is lost by desertification. Year after year, an area 50 times the size of Paris is lost to desertification. By planting new forests, Hommes et Terre and its village partners have recovered 4.500 ha over the season 2018-2019. 4.000.000 new trees have been planted this season, thanks to an equitable and sustainable collaboration with 102 villages. Today, Hommes et Terre has more than 15.000ha and 1.000.000 trees in recuperation.
